Shopify Plus Partner │ Klaviyo Master Platinum Partner │ Full-Service eCommerce Agency

1. Client Overview

Modern Glass Art is a Transylvanian manufacturer specializing in bespoke glass products, including custom shower enclosures and decorative kitchen glass. Moving away from a legacy Magento platform that suffered from slow load times and high maintenance costs, the brand required a complete site rebuild and migration to a scalable Shopify setup to expand across Europe.

2. Challenges

  • Multi-Market Architecture: Managing six European markets (Romania, Hungary, Germany, France, Italy, International) with dedicated domains, local currencies, and country-specific VAT structures (e.g., 19% RO vs. 27% HU) from a single backend.
  • B2B & B2C Dual Operations: Supporting standard DTC sales while building a dedicated wholesale portal for partner orders, tiered pricing, and integrated invoicing.
  • Dynamic Price Calculations: Implementing real-time square-meter price calculations for custom glass sizing (ABC) integrated with hardware finishes.
  • Full Platform Rebuild & Migration: Moving away from Magento while preserving search engine rankings via an exhaustive manual 301 redirect mapping of 1,000+ indexable URLs.

3. Migration & Rebuild Scope

We executed a complete website reconstruction and end-to-end data migration from Magento to Shopify Advanced:

  • Catalog & Customer Migration: Automated the transfer of product catalogs, complex variant structures, and customer databases via Matrixify.
  • SEO Safeguard & 301 Mapping: Audited indexable URLs using Google Search Console and Screaming Frog to execute over 1,000 manual 301 redirects, preserving existing domain authority and organic traffic.

4. Multi-Market & Ecosystem Setup

  • Shopify Markets Infrastructure: Configured 6 European storefronts with localized domains, distinct tax rules, and local currencies.
  • B2B Wholesale Portal: Built a B2B ordering hub for Romania and Hungary, enabling custom B2B registration, tiered discounts, and final invoice-level pricing rules.
  • Multilingual Localisation: Deployed T-Lab AI Translate with custom glass manufacturing glossaries to ensure technical accuracy across all 6 markets.
  • Dynamic Configurator & Options: Integrated Hulk Product Options with custom Liquid development to calculate dynamic square-meter prices for made-to-order products.
  • Conditional Payments & Invoicing: Implemented Payfy for market-specific payment rules (e.g., restricting Cash-on-Delivery outside RO/HU) and Vify Order Printer for multi-language PDF invoicing.

5. Functionalities Implemented

  • Configurable product pages. Customers choose the glass color and width (60, 70, 80 or 90 cm), then add options such as mounting side and anti-limescale treatment. Price and SKU update automatically with every selection.

Custom-size glass configurator. Customers select the glass type (clear, matte or ultra-clear, in 4, 6 or 8 mm). Width and height fields then appear, and the price is calculated per square meter in real time.

Market-specific product feeds. A dedicated multifeed for every market, each with its own currency and language, plus setup support for a Merchant Center Multi-Client Account, built for stores running multiple domains.

Self-service invoices. Through Customer Hub, customers download their invoices directly from their account.

SEO safeguard. Manual 301 redirect mapping for 1,000+ top landing pages and products.

6. Conclusion

The project successfully launched on July 28, 2026. Modern Glass Art now operates a high-performing DTC and B2B platform across Europe, maintaining strong SEO authority post-migration while offering automated custom product configuration and localized checkout experiences.
