Privacy Policy – EcomEssentials: Ro-Invoicing (Shopify Smartbill Integration)

1. Context and General Principles

1.1. This document represents the official privacy policy for the EcomEssentials: Ro-Invoicing application, developed and operated by eCommerce Today. Our goal is to provide absolute transparency regarding how we handle your data.

1.2. The application functions exclusively as a secure technological bridge (conduit) between your Shopify platform and the Smartbill invoicing system. Our core operational principle for this app is “zero storage of customer personal data.”

2. Data Processing and Transit Protocol

2.1. To automatically generate invoices, the application extracts the necessary order data from Shopify (including customer billing details, shipping addresses, company tax IDs, products, and order values) and transmits it securely via API directly to your Smartbill account.

2.2. EcomEssentials: Ro-Invoicing acts strictly as a data-in-transit processor. We DO NOT store, DO NOT archive, and DO NOT log your customers’ Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in our databases. The data merely passes through our secure infrastructure in real-time.

2.3. The only information we permanently retain on our servers is the Shopify account administrator’s contact data (email address and name) for billing and technical support, alongside the required API connection keys, which are stored in a highly encrypted format.

3. Data Utilization

3.1. The data transiting through our application is used for one single, well-defined business objective: automating your invoicing process and ensuring the accurate transfer of information from point A (Shopify) to point B (Smartbill).

3.2. We do not analyze your customers’ purchase data, we do not aggregate it for external statistics, and we do not utilize your financial or operational information for any other commercial or marketing purposes.

4. Data Security and Third-Party Sharing

4.1. eCommerce Today guarantees a strict confidentiality policy. We do not sell, rent, or facilitate third-party access to your store’s financial data or your customers’ personal information.

4.2. The data transmission is executed exclusively through secure, encrypted connections. Access to our technical infrastructure is strictly limited to our core development team, solely for maintenance, security patching, and technical troubleshooting.

5. Data Ownership and User Rights

5.1. You remain the absolute owner of your store’s data. Because our application does not store your customers’ personal data, any End-User GDPR or CCPA deletion requests must be managed directly within your Shopify or Smartbill platforms, where the data actually resides.

5.2. Upon uninstalling the application, any saved configurations, including your encrypted API connection tokens, will be automatically and permanently deleted from our systems.
