Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:
Step 1: Install the App
Install Essential Product Feeds from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, it will appear in your admin panel.
Step 2: Create a Metafield for Product Category
Compari.ro requires a specific category format, so you’ll need to define that in Shopify using a custom product metafield:

Go to your Shopify Admin → Settings → Custom Data → Products.

Create a new Metafield named:
Categorie Compari.ro. -
This will be used to assign each product its proper Compari.ro category.
Step 3: Assign Categories to All Products
Now it’s time to populate the Categorie Compari.ro metafield for each product:

Use the official Compari.ro category list to find the appropriate structure, like:
"Casa si gradina > Pistol pentru vopsit". -
If you’re not sure which category to use, search for a similar product on Compari.ro and copy the category path.

Use Shopify’s bulk edit tool to populate this metafield:

Filter by product tag (e.g.,
Tagged with: Pistoale pentru vopsit). -
Use Bulk Edit to fill in the metafield value for all filtered products.

Step 4: Upgrade Your Plan if Needed
If your store has more than 500 SKUs (not just products, but total SKUs), go to the Plans section in the app and upgrade to the appropriate tier to avoid any feed size limitations.

Step 5: Create the Feed
In the app, go to the Feeds section and click Add New Feed. Use the following setup:

Feed Name:
Feed Compari.ro: yourdomain.com
(e.g.,Feed Compari.ro: ecommerce-today.com) -
Feed Run Frequency:
1 Day -
Feed Format:
CSV -
Filters:

Step 6: Submit the Feed to Compari.ro

After the feed is created, go back to Feeds, find your Compari.ro feed, and click Copy Feed URL (CSV).

Paste the feed URL in the Sursa listei produselor field and hit Save.
Step 7: Wait for Review
The Compari.ro support team will review your feed. They typically reply within 0–1 business days with feedback or approval.
