The Project
SmilingShoes.com, a luxury footwear brand specializing in custom-made shoes, partnered with eCommerce Today to migrate their online store from Webfutures to Shopify. The migration involved transferring customer, order, and product data, implementing advanced product variations, and optimizing the UX for a seamless customer journey. Additionally, we configured Shopify Markets for international expansion, allowing for custom pricing per market and automated VAT calculations. A key part of the project was implementing advanced email automation to engage customers at every stage of their journey.

The Process
We started with a structured Shopify migration, ensuring all data was transferred without any loss. Given the bespoke nature of Smiling Shoes products, we built custom metafields and metaobjects to allow customers to easily select variations like heel height and platform type while keeping the shopping experience smooth and intuitive.
To support international expansion, we implemented Shopify Markets, enabling Smiling Shoes to:
